Am I the only one who posts on here?

Anyway, nice to write to myself from time to time. The distro went very well last night - met Owen Keogh in Union Square and gave him a bundle, which he is currently lugging up to the Bronx for distribution in and around the Bronx County Courthouse and 161st Street, and Francis Katai will be dropping them off at Fordham and the Pelham Bay area.

Then I rolled out (literally, I had two bundles in a rolling suitcase) to Astoria, where I met Tone the Bone Cardoso for yet more distribution. I was still dressed in business clothes (aka "the jerksuit"), so I tucked my pants into my socks, got on a flimsy little bike, and we hit the road. Dropped it off in a lot of great spots on either side of Astoria Blvd - three very nice and seemingly free-speech friendly lounges/coffeeshops (got a business card from a theater promoter at one of em, will show it at next meeting), one bar supposedly owned by the Pogues' lead singer and another gay bar called the Albatross (they started reading it right away), and a few other spots. Tony is also taking a few out to his Irish restaurant in Woodside.

Word.

HERE I AM, POSTING LIKE A HURRICANE!

Wow, this is fun. I've never blogged before. Anyway, pasted below is the commentary from Arthur Freedman:

Hi,

I just wanted to commend you on your article in The New York Megaphone. I read An Act Of State and it seems all too sadly true. When you say that when King started to enlarge his criticism of the United States to foreign policy, he was a marke man. I think the same is true of Malcolm X. When he came back from Mecca and became a more decisive critic of US global policies, he was a target to be eliminated. Anyway, your paper seems great--- keep up the good work!

Word, Artie. Someone's holding it down in the streets.

Enjoyed the meeting last night, and the post meeting reception as well. I was talking to Robbie, and we had a couple of ideas. If I write something (idea: how to avoid paying uncle sam for the war with Iraq by getting your tax money to go elsewhere), sander's essay, robbie's environmental piece, the red hook story, another dose of whoreascopes, something on loose change II, and some other ones I don't recall, we are already well on our way.

oh yeah, and we should have a party at vox pop, charge five bucks a head on a friday nite and have a couple acts perform - a fundraiser for the next megaphone, sell subscriptions, etc.

okey doke, hoping to do some distribution this eve and finish by tomorrow eve/monday, so we can have megaphones in all five boroughs.
